Nine Network announces support for Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre 2012.

Senior Nine News correspondent Simon Bouda and Today Show weather presenter Steve Jacobs join the 2012 Ride

Nine Network Australia has announced its commitment to supporting August's Black Dog Ride to the Red Centre.

Senior Nine News correspondent Simon Bouda - a proud Triumph Speedmaster rider - will be joining the 2012 ride and filing reports for both the 6pm Evening News Bulletins and the breakfast program - The Today Show.

Joining him will be Today Show weather presenter Steve Jacobs. Steve and his team plan to use cutting edge technology to present the weather for the Today Show along the route as well as even presenting a segment from the back of a bike!

"This ride is the chance to raise awareness of one of society's biggest problems - depression," Bouda says.

"Nine News has had a working relationship with the Black Dog Institute for some time - Sydney News Presenter Peter Overton officiated at the 10th Anniversary Gala Dinner- Nine's commitment to the Black Dog ride cements that on-going relationship."

Both Simon and Steve are very excited about the ride and look forward to meeting some of the many characters planning to take part.

"Depression is an incredibly important issue in our society - what a great way to get the message across - I can't wait", Steve says.
